SHILAN GHAFOOR, Supply Chain Assurance Lead - COVID Vaccines Unit, UK Health Security Agency

Shilan started her career as a hospital pharmacist before progressing into primary care to specialise in medicines optimisation. She transitioned into central government, working at the Department of Health and Social Care overseeing the national management of medicines to ensure continuity of supply as part of the department’s responsibility.

Currently, she works in a strategic and operational role within the UK Health Security Agency leading on the supply chain assurance of COVID vaccines for the UK. She is passionate about empowering women and advocates for pharmacy professionals in all sectors of national policy and strategic work and most importantly tackling inequalities to ensure best outcomes for patients.
